Adhitya Balaji

Adhitya is a pre-med sophomore from Greenwood, IN double-majoring in Molecular Life Sciences and Neuroscience with a minor in Economics. In addition to OVPUE, he is involved in research with Dr. Lingling Chen’s lab studying mitochondrial chaperones through the IFLE and STARS programs. Additionally, he serves as a College Ambassador and as a board member for Intra-Collegiate Emergency Medical Services. Upon graduation, Adhitya hopes to pursue a MD PhD with clinical interests in emergency medicine and research interests in substance abuse and opioids.

Apurva Gadde

Apurva is a junior majoring in Marketing and Sustainable business with a certificate in Applied Research & Inquiry. She is interested in researching ways to enhance the undergraduate experience at IU. Upon graduation she hopes to work in the marketing or consulting industries.

Jennah Hackett

Jennah Hackett is a pre med sophomore from Indianapolis, Indiana. She is majoring in Human Development and Family Studies. She is currently an IUB student ambassador and a peer mentor for the School of Public Health. She hopes to become a pediatrician and start her own practice dedicated to serving minorities in low income neighborhoods.

Elvin Irihamye

Elvin Irihamye is a pre med sophomore from Seattle, Washington. He is majoring in Neuroscience focusing on addiction and clinical studies. Elvin is currently involved with several non-profit organizations including his own focused on harnessing technology to reduce loneliness in long-term care and creating social capital for minority students. Elvin plans to pursue medical school and become a physician focused on global health initiatives while actively working within the disruptive technology space.

Sydney Johnson

Sydney Johnson is a Junior from Indianapolis Indiana studying psychology at Indiana University. Outside of OVPUE, she works as a UTA for the psychology department and is currently completing a 200 hour yoga teacher training. Upon graduation, she hopes to utilize her knowledge of Psychology and Psychotherapy to design individualized therapeutic treatments for individuals with a diverse range of mental illnesses. Further, she is passionate about researching new therapeutic treatments (such as meditation, yoga and psychedelics) and comparing them to current mental health treatments (such as Bupropion, Adderall, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).

Meghan Langford

Meghan is a junior from Avon, Indiana studying Secondary Social Studies Education with a minor in Education Policy. She is also a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for the School of Education and IU’s chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education. Upon graduation, Meghan will be doing her student teaching semester in Ireland and hopefully pursuing a career as a history educator at the high school level.

Bailee Leathers

Bailee Leathers is a senior from Bargersville, Indiana majoring in Nursing. During her time at Indiana University, she has been involved in Teaching and Sharing Skills to Enrich Lives, IU Student Nurse Association, a 500 Festival Princess and a Hoosier Scholar Ambassador. She is honored to be surrounded by students who are passionate about creating change at Indiana University. Upon graduation, she will work in a cardiac progressive care unit and hopes to further the role of nurses in healthcare legislation advocacy.

Claire Malone

Claire is a junior pursuing majors in Environmental and Sustainability Studies and Informatics, and a certificate in Applied Research & Inquiry. She is involved in Black Women & Technology, IU Student Government and a research group on campus. After graduating from IU, Claire plans to attend law school to study environmental law and to continue to advocate for marginalized populations.

Jordan Plunkett

Jordan Plunkett is a junior studying Oboe and Arts Management. She’s also pursuing a minor in African American studies and a certificate in entrepreneurship. She is currently a Peer Mentor for the FASE mentoring program through OVPDEMA and an intern for a Bloomington initiative called Helping Hands by Civic Champs. These experiences, along with participation in the OVPUE SAB are largely why she plans to work as a community organizer and create her own nonprofit after graduation.

Lakshya Rajavelu

Lakshya is a freshman from Zionsville, Indiana majoring in Finance, Accounting, and Business Analytics. Outside of OVPUE, she is involved in Finance Diversity Program, Doriot Scouts Program, and the Hutton Honors Council Association. Upon graduation, Lakshya would like to pursue a career in the financial services sector.

Sid Rath

Sid Rath is a Sophomore from Miami, Florida studying Computer Science at Indiana University. He is also the founder and president of two student organizations on campus - FIRST Alumni and Mentors at Indiana University and Machine Learning for All at Indiana University. Additionally, he is also a member of the Luddy School’s Student Engagement Board and a Luddy Ambassador. Outside of school, Sid loves to create movies and has a passion for cooking and baking.

Chase Salmon

Chase is a senior with a Psychology B.S. major, a Chemistry minor, and a Rock History Certificate. Chase is currently applying to medical school and has a career interest in rural psychiatry. He is interested in helping students from low socioeconomic backgrounds succeed in college, and he utilizes this interest in his work on the board.

Rose Schnabel

Rose Schnabel is a freshman from Indianapolis studying Biology and Spanish. She is also pursuing an individualized minor in science writing as well as certification as a medical interpreter. Rose is involved with research on campus, Advocates for Science at IU, and the IU Journal of Undergraduate Research and hopes to apply her knowledge in industry or academia. 

Anoosha Sri

Anoosha is a junior double-majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology, and she is primarily interested in the creation and promotion of educational and professional opportunities for equity in student success. Outside of OVPUE, she is involved in undergraduate research, and she enjoys her work as an undergraduate TA for the Psychology and Brain Sciences Department and as a member of the SUCCEED Student Advisory Board. Outside of her more academic-minded pursuits, Anoosha spends her time volunteering with Crisis Text Line and teaching English through Paper Airplanes, and in her free time, she likes dancing, reading, and crocheting.

Nadine Templeton

Nadine is a sophomore from Carmel, Indiana and this is her first year on the student advisory board. Within the board, she is particularly interested in curriculum and educational technology. She looks forward to researching issues to improve the undergraduate experience at IU!

Alec Theisz

Alec Theisz is a junior studying informatics with minors in environmental management and computer science. He conducts research in the Societal Computing Lab within the informatics department. Alec enjoys learning about new technologies and is passionate about the environment.

Jasmine Vann

Jasmine is a junior pursuing majors in both music education and Hispanic linguistics. This semester, she is excited to continue performing in various IU ensembles and festivals, teaching small groups and private lessons, and tutoring. Outside of the classroom, Jasmine enjoys taking part in campus organizations through her roles as co-president of IU’s chapter of Sigma Delta Pi (National Collegiate Hispanic Honors Society), a first year mentor in IU NAfME (National Association for Music Education), a member of the IU NBA (National Band Association), and a member of OVPUE. Jasmine looks forward to pursuing her interests in facets of education and service through her work on the board.
